Geotechnical Considerations for Underground Pipelines Projects, October 17

Description:

Proper site and geotechnical investigations provide useful data and information for planning, design and construction of underground pipelines and utility ducts. This workshop will discuss geotechnical, topographic, and hydrogeological factors that should be considered for efficient and successful completion of trenchless replacement of underground pipelines and conduits. Methods to obtain detailed geotechnical information and best practices will be presented. Details on how the borehole sampling and laboratory testing can influence the site selection, design, construction and choice/feasibility of equipment, drilling fluids, quality assurance/quality control procedures.  Furthermore, geotechnical baseline reports and equitable risk sharing technique(s) due to adverse and changing ground conditions will be discussed. Real case studies will provide examples of good and not-so-good practices to evaluate ground conditions for trenchless construction projects. LOCATION: Mississauga Grand, 35 Brunel Road, Mississauga.
